Get started with On-Site Engagements

The Editor's On-Site Engagement feature enables you to engage website visitors while they are browsing your website by showing pop-up overlays that can highlight offers, services or specific products. This is ideal for any communication where you want extra attention from your visitors when they're interacting with your website.

What are On-Site Engagements?

On-Site Engagements are pop-up overlays in different variations which you can set to appear based on various triggers. The engagement types range from simple information messages to interaction-based and call-to-action centered content, such as a button.

Instead of showing a pop-overlay, you can display certain engagements as a fixed element "sticking" to the side of your website. These types of engagements are useful for the most common call-to-action features such as call, email, website link or for collecting contact information.

You can choose between 12 different On-Site Engagements types:

Timing of engagements when multiple are active

There is no maximum limit to how many On-Site Engagements you can have activated on your website. However, a queuing system ensures that only one engagement shows at a time to avoid cluttering the website and possibly risking losing visitors.

The order in which the On-Site Engagements are displayed is by default from the oldest to the newest, i.e. the oldest On-Site Engagements shows first, followed by the others in the order by which they were created in the Editor. When the first engagement disappears or is closed down by the visitor, the second one will trigger (see illustration below).

Keep in mind that if you have set a time for your engagement to appear and to disappear, these will still be respected. For example, if the second engagement has been set to appear after two seconds, it will be displayed exactly two seconds after the first On-Site Engagement has disappeared or been closed down manually.

The only exception to this rule is Sticky engagements as they are always visible. Sticky engagements are therefore displayed simultaneously with "regular" engagements.
